They Might be Giants!

Okay... once a giant hits level 40 it is my humble opinion that they should gain immunity to knockdown. I am tired of being the size of Godzilla and having the "little people" able to knock me down. I mean I am a friggin giant for pete's sake with a strength over 50! No one should be able to knock me down except maybe some of the ancient dragons. Seriously, the drow ain't exactly known for their defensive tackles...

So I propose a change that giant subraces including ogres, trolls, and the like gain immunity to KD at level 40.

Thoughts??

i'll await a bit more feedback on posts here. I'm leaning (no pun intended) towards the giants, but don't they already have modifiers against KD for large creatures ?

they have a strength modifier but that's about it. However... they are GIANTS so they should be stronger than 98% of the masses. The size is both a blessing and a curse as many have seen that have traveled with me.

the modifier would be that a medium sized creature needs Improved knockdown to take one down... (not that hard to do). Knockdown only works on creatures the same size as you... improved kd lets you go up one size

However, you saw first hand last night that I was taken down by the WM in Sariah with IKD. Shouldn't happen is all I am saying and it happens way too often.

the Drow in Sariah , Steppes and most other WM are not your standard Drow... they are just plain nasty and are ment to be such. Not everything has Imp KD... which is needed to take down a large size creature.

I would suggest a bonus to Disipline to help resist a KD.

The drow WM are still going to get you since their AB is so high. (it is opposed rolls... their attack vs. your Discipline), but this should help against lesser AB creatures and toons that have Imp KD.

What kind of discipline bonus do you recommend?

5- 10 points should help alot.

lvl 40 str build giant with maxed discipline should have around 63 without gear bonuses or feats that give more discipline. Add in skill focus and epic skill focus and you are at 76 which is really nice at lvl 40.

A lvl 40 WM build, if built correctly, with a +5 weapon will have 65 AB. you will win out most of the time against their IMP KD.

A 5 pt Discipline bonus is very good.

Of course the key is to advance in Legendary levels where your discipline will go up 1 every level, not counting your STR increases.
So at lvl 50 you could raise your Disc. 14 pts (skill and ability increase) compared to a 4 pt ab increase for the WM build.

At this piont with a 5 point race bonus (not counting gear with Disc. on it) you will have the WM beat by 21 pts. That is great!

I think i have a lvl 50 troll with 100+ disc.... the only guys bringing him down are the Drow Wm with 90+ AB.

So I think 5 pts would be fine, but wouldn't be against 10 pts.

So are we talking about 10 disc added to giants ? or X to certain types, fire, frost, etc ?

after some consideration, I think it should be broken down like this:

Hill GIant - 5 Disc Points
Sand/Mountain - 10 Disc points
Frost/Fire - 7 Disc points
